About Me

Hi, I'm Dr. Marina Harris! Thank you for visiting my website.

I recently graduated with my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and am still completing the last part of my training to become a psychologist. I also have a Master's degree in Kinesiology and Health with an emphasis in sport psychology from Miami University.

I recently completed an APA-accredited psychology internship at Duke University Medical Center. I now work at the University of North Carolina Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (UNCCEED) providing support and therapy to people struggling with eating disorders. I also spend part of my time in the UNC Athletics Department, working with athletes to improve their mental wellness and sport performance.

I have several specialty areas:

  • Eating disorders (including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder)

  • Athlete and performer services - sport and performance psychology, including athlete mental health

  • Mindfulness

  • Psychosocial factors of bariatric surgery, including therapy and assessment

  • Supporting trauma survivors
